Building
the future.

Founders deserve to be recognized before they make it. That is the whole argument.

The world celebrates builders after the exit, after the raise, after the list. But the building happens long before any of that. Most of it in obscurity. Most of it surrounded by people who do not understand what you are doing or why. The recognition system is backwards, and the cost of that is paid quietly, by everyone in the gap.

Owning Future is my attempt to fix a small part of that. One essay a month, from inside the work. Not forecasting. Not trends. Not motivational content. Writing that earns its place because no one else could have written it.

I grew up in Bosnia. I built my career in Dubai. I run Proptefi, a real estate technology company operating in a market that is still being written. That day-to-day reality of building under uncertainty, inside a city that did not exist in its current form twenty years ago, is where most of my thinking comes from.

I spent years studying how the serious builders operated before I was one of them. Learning the language. Mapping the patterns. There is a specific gap between knowing how the game works and earning the right to play it. I lived in that gap for a long time. I still do, in some ways. That gap is what this publication is about.

I am inspired by founders. By the ones who make it and the ones who do not. By the conviction it takes to build something that does not exist yet, surrounded by people who cannot see it. I started documenting them because I needed that documentation to exist. Dubai of Tomorrow profiles one every week. Owning Future is where I write about the underlying mechanics.

I run Proptefi, a Dubai-based real estate technology company. Proptefi is the publication's powering company. The relationship is in the footer of every page.

Essays sometimes discuss companies that compete with, partner with, or supply Proptefi. Material relationships get an inline disclosure block in the essay. Plain industry adjacency does not.

Sponsors do not influence editorial. Sponsors do not see essays before they ship. No sponsorship from companies discussed in the same quarter's essay. No sponsorship from companies I or Proptefi hold equity in.

If I make a mistake, the correction is signed and dated. Reach me at boban@proptefi.com.
